Hair generally grows at about a rate of 15cm per year. When this is broken down it amounts to just over a centimeter per month and half a millimeter per day. Of course there are some hints and tricks that you can use to try and encourage your hair to grow faster such as scalp massages and extra vitamins but you will not be able to make it grow that much faster than this unless you use extensions!

When you lose hair in the bath or when you are washing your hair, it can look a bit scary but in actual fact, you lose more hair as you age. When you were younger, of child age, you would have lost about 90 hairs in a 24 hour period but as you get older, this rises to about 150 hairs per day. When you have around 150,000 hairs on your head, this really isn’t anything to panic about!

It is the top one whole centimeter of your hair which shows everything that you have done within the last month. This is quite scary as scientific studies have shown that they can tell how much alcohol you have consumed, the food that you have eaten as well as the drugs you may have used, all from that small snippet of hair!
